Moira Protani - Legal advice for charitiesSave money on compliance costs with advice on good governance, a modern constitution and charity law regulation

I am a senior charity law and governance practitioner and help charities and social enterprises of any size to comply with charity law, implement good governance practices and change their legal structures.

After 26 years of working in partnerships with other lawyers it was time for a new challenge - so I set up my own company. My clients, to whom I provide a confidential and low cost service through the company, are situated primarily in London and the South East (including Brighton where I live) but also further afield.  I have extensive experience of advising charities from all sectors including those providing:

  • Education
  • Religious services and instruction
  • Care and support for vulnerable people
  • Social housing and associated services for the relief of need
  • Village halls and recreational spaces for their community

From an early stage in my career, I have been recognised as a specialist charity lawyer and leader in my field.

With effect from 1 April 2021 I ceased to hold a practising certificate and my company is no longer regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.  However, my clients will, of course, continue to be protected by professional indemnity insurance.
